Soulmates.

Personally I’m not too sure if I believe in soulmates or not. I believe in certain people who are meant to be a part of your life, people who are here to make a difference and who you connect with instantly.

I’ve met very few people throughout my life that have felt like they truly are meant to be part of my life and are here to make a difference. But I’ve always wished I met someone who I connected with on such a new level that it would be as if we’d known each other for many lives. As if we were always meant to be together and part of each other’s lives, but the universe was simply waiting for the right time to put us together at last.

When this feeling came, it was not only a surprise but also like the pieces of the puzzle were finally coming together.

Have you met many people who’ve had this effect on you?

  1. I haven’t met my romantic soulmate but I have a few friends who are definitely my soulmates. We can go years without speaking or seeing one another and pick up right where we left off when we do finally reconnect. They are the kind of friends who are more than friends, more than family, and if I never meet my romantic soulmate it will be okay because I’ve been blessed to have my pals with me most of my life

  2. Loved and connected on a level that is intense and present but yet familiar like it has existed for eons, yes. My best friend and my current husband are the only two I’ve ever experienced that with. Great questioning!

  3. I always thought of a soulmate not as a missing part of you but as someone that will graft on you and together you will be greater than you were individually. I wrote a post on my blog titled grafted plant. I would be honored if you checked it out.

  4. I can’t say I’m met many. I strive for a deep connection, but also realize that people come and go in our lives. I’ve realized my writings have influenced people to react in weird ways, but that is different than meeting someone and knowing you’re connected. So I’m a bit of a skeptic.

  5. I have and up to that point I was the most cynical, anti-soulmate theorist on the whole issue of love. I think the problem we have is that people have conflated the idea that soulmates and partners have to be the same person. This is what is unattainable. You are soulmates so that you don’t have to be romantic-mates or relationship-mates. There’s a connection there that needs no physical connection. Interesting question you raised, that definitely made me think! Thanks 🙂
