How Are You So Popular?

How do people keep up with so many friends? How do you get the time to text back the many friends that reach out to you, keep a conversation, meet up with everyone? Am I just a bad friend that I can’t find the time to do everything I want in life and still catch up with everyone around me?

I’ve never understood how some people seem to surround themselves by hundreds of people and still be able to keep those friendships alive. One of the issues is that I’ve never had a big group of friends (they’re usually individually in separate groups, which makes it hard to catch up with everyone at once), but I still don’t think I would be able to keep up with that many people at once.

I get exhausted around people if I’m in social situations for too long, so sometimes I need to take a breather and focus on my own things, feel like I’m doing something productive with my life or just simply taking the time to recharge my batteries.

All of this combined really does make me feel like a bad friend sometimes – and I probably am – but I just can’t seem to find the emotional or mental energy to be the best friend I could be to so many people in my life.

How do you think other people seem to jump from one plan to the other, constantly, and keep going with their lives as if they have all the time in the world?

  1. Most people aren’t like that . Those people are just more noticeable. If you need time to recharge , technically that makes you an introvert , but it’s just a label . Don’t judge yourself over this . Treat your special friends right and don’t try to have a million shallow friendships if that is not really you . It’s okay .
